Keio 9000 series

History

The 9000 series was introduced to Keio lines and through-services towards Toei Shinjuku Line, replacing 6000 series. The front end of 9000 series is based on that of 8000 series, but traction and other equipment are different. An eight-carriage unit of the 9000 series can couple with a two-car unit of 7000 series.

Current Operations & Future Prospects

They are used on the entire Keio network except small branch lines and Inokashira Line. They are also used on through-services towards Toei Shinjuku Line.
