History

There are two 7000 series in Tokyu's history, but this article is about the newer one. For the older one, see here.

The 7000 series is a type of three-carriage train for Tokyu Tamagawa and Ikegami Lines. It is based on 5000 series, but probably looks more like 6000 series.

Tokyu initially planned to introduce 17 units by early-2012, but the introduction was suspended for a while, as retaining some redundant 1000 series was less costly than simply introducing the new trains. The introduction resumed in 2017, but 15 units were delivered in total, two less than the first plan.

Current Operations & Future Prospects

The 7000 series trains are used on Tokyu Tamagawa and Ikegami Lines, along with the 1000 series.
