History

The 2000 series entered service in 2001 when Saitama Railway, also known as Saitama Stadium Line, was opened. The train is based on Tokyo Metro 9000 series, though looks a little different. 10 six-carriage units were introduced in total, and they have been used for through-services to the Tokyo Metro Namboku and Tokyu Meguro Line. Overhaul work is carried out by Tokyo Metro.

Current Operations & Future Prospects

The 2000 series trains have been used on the Saitama Railway line as well as the Tokyo Metro Namboku and Tokyu Meguro Lines. They have also been used on the Tokyu Shin-Yokohama Line but not on the Sotetsu network. All ten units will be refurbished in 2027-31.
