History
The 2000 series entered service in 2001 when Saitama Railway, also known as Saitama Stadium Line, was opened. The train is based on Tokyo Metro 9000 series, though looks a little different. 10 six-carriage units were introduced in total, and they have been used for through-services to Tokyo Metro Namboku and Tokyu lines. Overhaul work is carried out by Tokyo Metro.
Current Operations & Future Prospects
The 2000 series trains have been used on Saitama Railway as well as Tokyo Metro Namboku and Tokyu Meguro Lines. They have also been used on Tokyu Shin-Yokohama Line but not on Sotetsu lines. They were also used for a through-service to Tokyu Toyoko and Minatomirai Lines at peak seasons in 2004-06.
