History
The 8900 series is based on Keisei 3700 series, though there are several differences. Three eight-carriage units were introduced in total, but they were shortened to six coaches in 2014 due to a drop in demand. Redundant intermediate carriages were disposed of.
Current Operations & Future Prospects
The 8900 series is used on Shin-Keisei Line but not for through-services to Keisei Chiba Line.
