History
The 80000 series is the latest rolling stock of Shin-Keisei. It is based on Keisei 3100 series, but seating, traction and motors are different. Five six-carriage units were introduced so far, replacing 8000 series.
As Shin-Keisei will be dissolved and merged with Keisei, the existing fleets will be acqured by Keisei on 1 April 2025.
Current Operations & Future Prospects
The 80000 series is used only on Matsudo Line. It can run Keisei Chiba Line, but they are not used for through-services at present. Shin-Keisei had a plan to introduce more units, but it is likely to be cancelled by Keisei.
