History
The 8000 series was introduced to boost capacity of services on Shin-Keisei Line. Until the 1970s, new trains of Shin-Keisei were largely based on trains of its parent company. The 8000 series looked very different from any Keisei trains, but accommodation and air-conditioning were almost the same as those of Keisei 3500 series.
The 8000 series had been used not only on Shin-Keisei Line but also through-services to Keisei Chiba Line since 2006. Some units were refurbished with inverter-controlled traction. The last unit retired in 2021.

The livery was slightly changed when the through-service was launched in 2006.

The pink livery (perhaps the worst one ever in the 2010s amongst all rolling stock in the country).
