History
The 610 series was introduced to suburban rail network of Iyotetsu, with two two-carriage units in total. Its design is very similar to that of Tobu 20000 series, but their front ends are very different. To reduce costs, the 610 series units consist of second-hand bogies and traction. They were initially painted white with orange bands, but repainted orange in 2017.
Current Operations & Future Prospects
They are usually used on Takahama and Yokogawara Lines, and they form four coaches at peak times. In that case, doors on the last coach do not open at Otemachi station due to a short platform.
