History
Hokuso 7300 series is effectively identical to Keisei 3700 series with few differences such as the livery. Two eight-carriage units were introduced when Hokuso Line between Keisei-Takasago and Shin-Kamagaya was entended in 1991.
Since there were through-services to Shin-Keisei Line until 1992, the 7300 series trains had some features to be compatible with requirements set by Shin-Keisei including a communication device. In addition, the 7300 series could restrict its acceleration to a lower level as power supply on Shin-Keisei Line was vulnerable at that time. Those features were removed when the through-services were discontinued.
There is 7800 series, which looks exactly the same as the 7300 series. The only difference between two is the ownership, as the 7800 series trains are still owned by Keisei though being on a long-term loan.
Current Operations & Future Prospects
The 7300 series runs Hokuso Line between Keisei-Takasago and Imba nihon-idai, as well as through-services to Keisei, Toei Asakusa and Keikyu line as far as Nishi-magome or Haneda Airport.
