History
The 500 series Revaty is a type of limited express train. Unlike other limited express trains that Tobu owns, the 500 series is formed of only three coaches, to make operations more flexible. This made it possible to split a train into two when it enters a branch line.
They have been used on Tobu Nikko, Isesaki and other relevant lines, as well as Yagan Railway and Aizu Railway. However, they cannot run JR lines.
Current Operations & Future Prospects
The 500 series are allocated to Limited Express Revaty Aizu (Asakusa - Aizu-tajima, through-services to Yagan Railway and Aizu Railway), Revaty Kegon (Asakusa - Tobu-nikko), Revaty Kinu (Asakusa - Kinigawa-onsen) and Revaty Ryomo (Asakusa - Akagi), as well as Skytree Liner (Asakusa - Kasukabe) and Urban Park Liner (Asakusa - Kashiwa and Omiya). Furthermore, they are also used for night trains Oze Night Express and Snowpal (both Asakusa - Aizukogen-ozeguchi) on holidays.
