History
The L00 series is the second rolling stock for the Seibu Yamaguchi Line since it became an automated guideway transit system. Just like its predecessor, all units are formed of four coaches. According to the company, "L00" should be pronounced as "leo kei", and L derived from "Lake", "Leisure" and "Lions" (all of which are, given their words, highly relevant to the Line), while "00" implies ∞ (infinity). This article does not delve into whether they are well-branded or merely far-fetched.
The exterior is unique, not least the design of headlights, the position of tail lamps and the height of door windows. On the other hand, its interior design is not different to other light rail trains in Japan.
Current Operations & Future Prospects
The first unit entered into service in March 2026, and two more will be delivered by March 2028.
