History
The Keisei 3600 series was designed for through-service towards Toei Asakusa Line. It can also run Hokuso Line but not on Keikyu Lines, unlike other Keisei's rolling stock. There were nine six-carriage units at first, but they later became six eight-car units and one six-car unit in the 1990s, and they had been used mainly for limited express or rapid services. However, most units were taken out of service in 2019-20 as the company introduced 3100 series.
Current Operations & Future Prospects
There are a six and four-car units, respectively. The former one was restored to its original livery in 2020 and used mainly for stopping service on Keisei Main, Chiba and Chihara Lines. However, it is de facto a spare unit so that it does not run often. The latter one is mostly used on Kanamachi or Chiba and Chihara Lines, and now it is compatible with driver-only operation. Both units are likely to be withdrawn by 2024, when their overhaul certificates expire.
Photos
The 3600 series originally had red bands, which was called "Fire Orange Livery". In 2020, Keisei restored a six-carriage unit to this design.
One unit was leased to Shibayama Railway in 2002-13, though it was mostly used on Keisei Main Line along with other 3600 series trains.
